Second Life Linked in Story to Attempted Kidnapping

This is one that's, hopefully, irrelevant, but good to be aware of in case people like Representative Mark Kirk are paying attention: Kimberly Jernigan, 33, of Durham, N.C., was arrested by police for attempting to kidnap an ex-boyfriend, 52, that police say she met in Second Life. The two reportedly interacted for some time in the virtual world, met in real life several months ago, and broke up, which prompted Jernigan to drive to Delaware and stalk her ex before attempting to kidnap him. In other words, Second Life sounds like it didn't play much of a role in the incident, but it is featured in the headline of the story and referenced several times throughout, along with the fact that Jernigan's avatar was a lion and her boyfriend used a female avatar. Hopefully it stays a non-story instead of rallying point for worried politicians.
