Rosedale: Linden's strategy is broad over niche

I realize that headline may be like saying "God: Water's point is to be wet instead of dry," but the reasoning (from Linden Lab, not God, which would go way past my amateur grounding in philosophy) is still worth looking at. In a recent, lengthy interview with Metanomics, Philip Rosedale, Linden Lab's Chairman of the Board, talked about the broadening of use cases for virtual worlds. His vision is that, ultimately, they'll be "in a place of dominant use for computing environments." What's more interesting to me is the way that Linden is approaching that plan.
